Dreaming New Realms

Dreaming New Realms proposes an alternative to the common perception of a “posthuman”, moving beyond techno-solutionism and enquiring the liminalities between humans and nonhumans, social structures and ecosystems. Proposing a layered understanding of fluctuations, uncertainty and expectancy, the video works explore how humans relate and co-create the environments that surround – by emphasising the possibilities of solidarity, encouraging a return to play and challenging the divide between the real and virtual, understood as hypothetical in this context.

How can we conjure a “posthuman” beyond current systems, one who exists in close connection to its natural world? The formula begins with the renewed perception of the interconnectedness of systems, places, realms that became overlooked in the current human-made system.
