FOOD x OINK!

26.08. – 28.08.2022

Platzhirsch Festival 2022, Duisburg

OINK! car cinema collaborates with Videocity Basel for the first time at the Platzhirsch Festival taking place on 26th – 28th August 2022. The makers of OINK! thus create a short-term VIDEOCITY presence in Duisburg and join the wonderful idea of bringing artistic video works to public spaces worldwide.

OINK! is the smallest car cinema in the world (with a screen inside) in a bright red Mazda  former fire truck. It participates every year at the Duisburg Platzhirsch Festival of Biodiversity and adds film to the program of music, art, performance, and children's events. The name is a twist on the word KINO and the delighted exclamation of a pig with deer antlers that lives on the roof of the bus for the duration of the festival. To continue operating under pandemic conditions, OINK! has been converted provide outdoor seating.

At a satellite location on the festival grounds, we will also show short films by artists from Ukraine. To be present in the art world, especially now, that is the wish of many video artists who had to leave Ukraine or still live there under the most difficult conditions. We thus join Videocity’s call for donations.
